Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking for help to protect confidential information could consider a new product from Dell.

The computing giant has announced the launch of its J-SRX facility, which offers a hybrid hardware and software option for companies hoping to ensure the security of their data.

Dell has teamed up with SecureWorks for the new package and customers will also receive a round-the-clock service, firewalls, monitoring devices, web app scanning and risk assessments as part of the deal, Techwatch.com reported.

'The result is a cost-effective security system for businesses which used to buy separate machines and software,' the website commented.

A recent report from KPMG discovered that concerns over web security and data privacy are evident among UK consumers, with almost nine out of ten web users in Britain worrying about security online.

A similar proportion is also concerned about their privacy when browsing the internet, the study found.
