Welcome to The Association for Informatics Professionals in Health and Social Care (ASSIST).
ASSIST is a professional association for those working in and for informatics in healthcare and social care.
Its objective is to develop professionalism and professional standards, and to work with other bodies including government to provide a voice for informatics professionals.

ASSIST is pleased to announce its support for the Mobile and Wireless Healthcare 2010 conference that will be held in Birmingham on 24 February 2010. Members of ASSIST will receive 20% discount off the standard delegate rate for this event by quoting code GP05 when booking. This national event complements the ASSIST North West Branch event in Liverpool on 18 March 2010 which will showcase an NHS mobile communications project for community midwives.
Recent Events
- ASSIST participated very successfully in the E-Health Insider Live 2009 two day conference and exhibition for the health informatics sector at The ICC, Birmingham on 9-10 November 2009. The event was attended by over 900 delegates/visitors and 400 exhibitor staff. The ASSIST stand presence attracted new Members and helped establish new relationships and reinforce existing ones. A new resource is available to support your professional development. This provides an online 'one-stop shop' for Health Informatics related qualifications, training courses, resources and advice relevant to HI staff development and career progression. This should be of real value not only for practicing Health Informaticians but also to HR Departments and those looking to move into career in Health Informatics.
