Information Technology is continually moving forward - whether infrastructure, application or delivery model. Service Management underpins how these components combine to deliver business value. ITSM itself needs to move forward in line with these.

This session will discuss the core concepts and structures of ITSM, and then maturity stages required to match increasingly demanding business needs from IT services. It aims to demonstrate that 'Whatever your role in IT - with Service Management, everyone's involved'.

Brian Scott is a Service and System Management IT Consultant and Director at Service Management Connect Ltd. Over 24 years IT and Telecoms experience including 21 Years MoD in various posts in the UK and abroad covering Service and System Management engineering and operations. Last 3.5 years experience in industry covering solutions and implementations for large Managed Service projects’ toolsets, process and people. Brian is Treasurer of the BCS Service Management Specialist Group.

Chris Finden-Browne is an IBM Distinguished Engineer from Global Technology Services, with over 30 years experience. He works in the worldwide team responsible for Service Management architecture and standard solutions. He is the chief architect of the IBM Process Reference Model for IT which documents the building block processes for all aspects of IT (including ITIL) in a formal way. He is a prominent member of the cross-divisional team of technical leaders that drives a common foundation of concepts and assets for Service Management across IBM products and services. Chris is Chair of the BCS Service Management Specialist Group. his will be jointly with the BCS Hampshire Branch and Southampton Solent University.
