Main Event

Service Management has been adopted by many thousands of companies worldwide and is constantly changing, driven by frameworks, standards, vendors and now social media.

The presentation and discussion is delivered for those new to ITSM but also for those familiar with aspects of it and interested in discussion and debating where we are all headed.

The Service Management committee will explain the key concepts and features and will give attendees sufficient information to understand and build upon the essentials. We’ll begin with what the industry is getting out of Service Management, move on to explain what is and what is happening with ITIL® and ISO20000 in some detail and then finish with a brief look at other linked topics - including COBIT 5 and Lean IT.

Our speakers will cover...

  • ITIL including the AXELOS ITIL JV progress
  • ISO20000
  • COBIT and Lean

and finish with a Q&A session.

The first short part of the evening (18:00) is the SMSG Annual general Meeting (AGM) where we will be providing the Chair and Treasurers’ report. We will voting for roles and welcoming applications for new committee members.

Please note that the Annual General Meeting of the Service Management Specialist Group of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT is to be held on Thursday 10 October 2013 from 18:00 at BCS London offices. The short formal AGM will be followed by the separately announced Members' Meeting "IT and Apprenticeships - Getting an early start in Service Management".
