The SMSG were pleased to host Stuart Rance and the (AXELOS sponsored but totally independent with an open license) Taking Service Forward Initiative - to hear about, discuss and get involved in a key element in the future of ITSM and no doubt ITIL.

The first release of the adaptive service model was launched earlier this year. This model is the first step on the way to an open architecture for service management.

Stuart talked about the adaptive service model, how it has been designed, how it might contribute to the future of service management, and how you can get involved in developing the future of this exciting new approach to service management.

This session will be of interest to people who have little knowledge or experience of formal architectures, as well as to architects who want to understand how service management can fit in to an architectural model. Because the model is licensed under a creative commons license, anyone has the right to use it, even for commercial purposes, and even if they have modified it. So come along and learn how service management can benefit from an architectural approach.

Speaker biography:

Stuart is an ITSM consultant, trainer and author, and CEO of Optimal Service Management. He is a senior ITIL examiner, a Chartered Fellow of BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT (FBCS CITP), a Fellow in Service Management at prISM (FSM), and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He was the author of the 2011 edition of ITIL Service Transition and a co-author of the ITIL V3 Glossary. He has also written many service management pocket guides and regularly presents at major public events.
