Since humans have had language, we have had stories. For millennia, information was shared orally. Storytelling was necessary to our survival. Today, facts and numbers are important, and are often communicated using tables and graphs. But to use data alone misses a great opportunity to motivate and empower our audiences.

Storytelling is a powerful tool. Anyone who wants to can give their business communications more impact by learning a few simple storytelling techniques. In this session Julia Harrison will look to help you to focus on and improve creating effective stories for your ITSM. She’ll do this by focusing on three questions:

  • Do you understand the change we want to create?
  • Who are your audience?
  • What’s the ‘big idea’ (story) which will enable and motivate them to act?

Speaker - Julia Harrison
