Synopsis:

All-Encrypted IP Networks

Future secure architectures for multi-domain highly secure systems are focusing on all-encrypted networks. The idea is that if everything is encrypted then it allows general sharing of the network infrastructure thus simplifying systems and reducing the demands of Size, Weight and Power. This approach poses challenges and risks to the unwary, as well as opportunities. This talk will highlight the concept, why it is being adopted and some of the issues which are now coming to light in this challenging area. In particular some lessons from the second world war may need to be re-learned.

This presentation will be followed by the Cumbria North AGM

Headline Speaker: Professor Brian Turton

Professor Turton is a fellow of the IET and at present works for Airbus Defence and Space as a Senior Expert in Secure Communication Systems. For nearly 20 years he has worked in secure communication systems, both on the performance and availability of large scale deployed secure systems and as a technical coordinator for multi-million pound p.a. research programmes in the area of Secure Information Infrastructure. Previous to this he was a university lecturer in optimisation and telecommunications at Cardiff University for nearly a decade.
