BCS is proud to announce the winners for the Business Achievement Awards categories of its IT Professional Awards:

Public Sector, Not for Profit & Charitable Organizations

Micro Focus logo eRDM, Scottish Executive
eRDM has enabled the Executive to move away from primarily paper based working and record keeping. In the process, the business has moved from a culture that was substantially paper based and local, to an electronic working world based on openness and collaboration. It is a solution for the 21st century, which aims to ensure that the Executive's staff have the right information at the right time, to enable the delivery of high quality and responsive services for the people of Scotland.

Financial, Insurance & Professional Services

Infrasoft Technologies Limited logo New Improved Car Insurance (NICI), Direct Line Group, RBS Insurance
This innovative project was conceived as part of the Direct Line revitalisation programme and aimed to grow the motor business quickly in the first year. It was conceived when Direct Line became aware of growing dissatisfaction amongst consumers with more than one car in their household. It addressed Customer concerns regarding multiple car households by allowing the NCD to be acquired from other vehicles or policies and provided Direct Line with a competitive advantage in the car insurance marketplace.

Retail, Commercial & Manufacturing

'CoreB' ERP Project, JJ Food Service Limited
The company aimed to have a system that would allow it to become national player in the food services market while keeping and extending the flexibilities and efficiency that has made the company so successful to date. The company believes this can now be achieved with its new systems and is confident that others will now look to it as a leading example.

Small Organizations

The eCourier System, ECourier
The eCourier system brings clients and couriers directly together through the combination of mobile devices, GPS and an intuitive and easy to use online booking system which processes all delivery requests, after which deliveries are automatically allocated to appropriate eCouriers minimizing the need for human intervention. In addition we have developed a street-level tracking module, which allows clients to follow the GPS-informed movements of couriers assigned to their deliveries, and a module which automatically despatches Proof of Delivery E-mails containing the recipient's digital signature, arriving in user inboxes no later than ten seconds after signatures. Together, these systems provide unprecedented levels of efficiency, reliability, transparency and customer confidence.

The BCS Business Achievement Flagship Award

The Flagship Award was awarded to the Business Achievement Award entry which had demonstrated the greatest beneficial impact for the organization.
