Description:

Metaheuristics are powerful techniques for optimisation. They are applied on hard (in computational point of view) problems. These problems normally come from real life and industry. In this presentation are shown application of metaheuristic methods on wireless sensor network layout, transportation modelling and optimisation, and metal plates production for building construction.

This presentation does not require prior specialist knowledge and could be suitable also interdisciplinary for professionals, academics and students in Networking, Transportation and Constructions.

About the speaker:

Professor Stefka FidanovaProfessor Stefka Fidanova works in the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She obtained her MSc degree on applied mathematics and PhD degree on Computer Science from Sofia University, Sofia Bulgaria. Her field of research include combinatorial optimisation, parallel computing, mathematical modelling.
