The Impact of Data Protection on Individuals and Businesses

Dave Evans is Senior Guidance and Promotion Manager at the Information Commissioner’s Office and will discuss the UK’s legislative framework for the protection of personal data and the right to privacy.

He will first of all discuss the underlying principles of data protection as well as the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. After this general introduction he will move on to a more practical discussion of how data protection has an impact on IT in areas such as database management, the Internet, e-mail and location services.

Dave will be pleased to take questions from the audience.

An essential event for anyone interested in the application of IT in modern business.
