I am a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for Computer Science, which is currently a male dominated subject. and I aim tp challenge the stereotypes by encouraging more girls to join the subject. I have worked on a number of projects with an esteemed electronics engineer, and created an artefact which has transformed the way in which education is delivered at Key Stage 3 in UK schools and now across many areas of the world. As a result of our work, children can now effectively learn micro electronics and coding using microprocessor technology which was designed by a team of men and me.

Teacher training and ITT provision involves working within multiple frameworks. This can be difficult, as the training is conducted over a relatively short term period. There are many facets to teacher training and it is difficult both for the trainee and the trainer to operate within these multiple frameworks to achieve a successful outcome. Often trainees become overwhelmed with the many processes involved in working towards the final conclusion of qualifying as a successful computer science teacher.

Reflecting upon these frameworks, I am going to review how these processes are combined and assessed, to support the development of successful teachers. It is a difficult process, but it is one where the requirement to use multiple frameworks enables the preparation of teachers to work within a constantly evolving framework.
