The Promise of Blockchain and Digital Currencies — Nakamoto’s Legacy and the Impact of 5G Connectivity
Blockchain is the new distributed technology that records transactions - it's what banks and mainstream companies are mainly interested in. Bitcoin and other digital currencies sit on top of the blockchain. Banks and governments aren't too sure about them, even though Bitcoin has recently hit a record high. ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) are a way of investing in startups, where a new digital currency is created as part of the ICO. Instead of receiving share certificates in return for their money or digital currency, investors get tokens denominated in a new digital currency. They could have huge promise, but they’re controversial — ICOs were recently banned in China.
How can you make sense of all this, and what will be the effect of stirring 5G mobile technology into the mix? Fit the pieces together with the help of our experts: you need to know how these developments will touch the world of the entrepreneur. The event will include a Q & A panel discussion, then networking over drinks and eats.
