SYNOPSIS
For the last 25 years, caching has been a key part of the HTTP protocol which drives the world wide web.

This talk considers the different types of web cache, the underlying need for caching as well as the technologies and approaches to make it happen.

The web has not stood still over the past couple of decades, and caching has had to evolve. We will take a look back over the history of caching, and a look forward as HTTP and the wider web platform evolves.

Success stories and challenges will be presented, with a focus on the education sector.
