Kirsten is the Chief Executive of STEMNET, a UK-wide organisation that works with thousands of businesses and schools to inspire young people and schools in all aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Kirsten has been with STEMNET for 9 years, initially as Regional Director for London before becoming Director of Networks in August 2008. Previously, Kirsten had worked as a research and development scientist in the chemical industry for many years, before moving on to management consultancy also within the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. She subsequently became a qualified teacher.

Kirsten has completed a degree in chemistry and business at King’s College, London and an MBA at Imperial College, London and is a member of the Society of the Chemical Industry.
