BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, promotes wider social and economic progress through the advancement of information technology science and practice. The Institute serves over 75,000 members including practitioners, businesses, academics and students, in the UK and internationally.
The Information Risk Management and Assurance (IRMA) Group supports practitioners in the areas of information systems risk management, compliance and audit, and promotes the awareness and use of computer auditing, control and risk management techniques.
We are one of the oldest specialist groups in the BCS and have around two thousand members.
We hold regular briefings which are recorded so that IRMA members can view them at a time of their own choosing. Please see the Events page for an example.
Our monthly meetings run from September through to July, usually in central London, but with the occasional foray elsewhere. The subjects covered are diverse to reflect the different interests of the membership, but with a strong emphasis on IT control, compliance, audit and risk management.
50th anniversary year
IRMA's 50th Anniversary one-day conference
This conference will celebrate their achievements. Starting with a brief history to fix the historical context via a quick look back, the day will then predict what we may face in the future.
