The BCS GreenIT SG is again running 3 Student and one Open Competitions: The theme this year picks up the societal 2nd pillar of Sustainability, asking you to produce a poster on:
“Promoting a Single Action related to ICT and sustainability that you would like to see put into Practice for the benefit of society,”
The societal aspect of ICT and sustainability includes examples such as how IT may affect democracy, access to services or the impact on culture and community.
Entry requires a single power point slide, providing a visual poster for the idea.
There are four competitions, each having an entry category as follows...
1. Open category, for all BCS members, whether in the UK and Overseas, submit your idea either as an individual or as a group (must contain at least one BCS member).
Student categories, there are 3 categories, covering all students (members or not), in the UK or abroad.
2. Students at Secondary schools, up to the approximate age of 16;
3. Students at Further Education establishments, up to the approximate age of 18 or 19;
4. Students at Universities or other Higher Education establishments, on undergraduate or post graduate courses, whether full time or part-time.
For all category entries may be either an Individual or Group.
For category 2 (Secondary students) and 3 (FE) only, entries should be collated by a member of staff for the establishment (not necessary to be a BCS member, but normally an employee), who would aggregate the entries and email them to us as a single file.
Each entry should comprise a single PowerPoint file, containing images and text written in English;
Each member or group is allowed to submit up to 4 entries;
After the deadline, the entries will be assessed by a panel, and the results published on the Green IT SG web page. The judges’ decision is final.
Competition entry deadline for all categories: 12.00 (noon) Monday 15 May 2017 BST.
The authors of successful entries will receive a Certificate and a small prize.
