Techmesh: Social Media - Friend or Foe
1 February 2012, York. This event is organised by techmesh and includes presentations from three speakers. It is an opportunity to hear first hand the risks involved in social media, how to safeguard your data, protect your reputation and implement a safe and practical social media strategy.
IXLeeds 1
16 February 2012, Leeds. IXLeeds was launched in September 2010 in order to allow public peering in the North of the UK. It aims to help its members increase their network resilience and reduce overall traffic backhaul costs toward London. The event is open to members and non-members, and is a great opportunity to find out more about the organisation, hear some interesting related speakers and network with other attendees.

The Graduate 2011 was a huge success. Congratulations from BCS, Yorkshire Water, Graduates Yorkshire, KPMG and Capgemini go to all of this years finalists, but in particular to this years winner, Alex Vaughan. More information and photos to follow.

A New Aim for the New Year
'A New Year' may seem a little premature, but as our new financial year started in September, November feels fairly early on! The West Yorkshire Branch held its first Committee Meeting last night, and one of the key agenda items was our aim for this financial year. It has been noted that in the last few years numbers at our meetings have been gradually decreasing.
