The ELITE Group is the UK lead forum for CIOs, IT Directors and Senior Managers to exchange experiences, views and expectations on how information systems should be managed to achieve business objectives and to promote professionalism within the wider IT community.

The discussion subject for this inaugural event will be ‘Cloud Computing’ and to explore this topic we have two expert speakers on the day, Peter Bassill and Dale Vile.

About the speakers:

Peter Bassill

Peter is the Group Information Security Officer of Gala Coral Group, Working for over 14 years in information technology, he has 10 years more experience in information security and has spent the last 3 years specialising in Information Security Management. Peter’s expertise covers penetration testing, web application assessment, enterprise risk management and information security business development.

A trusted advisor to a number of UK organisations on Information Security, he is also a frequent speaker at Information Security events throughout Europe. Having acquired Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) status, Peter went on to have Chartered Information Technology Professional (CITP) status awarded to him by the BCS.

Dale Vile

As an active industry analyst, Dale has extensive experience in both end-user and vendor environments. In the first part of his career, he held positions as developer, architect and project manager within companies such as Glaxo and Heineken.

He later moved on to the vendor community and worked in various consulting, business development and management roles at Nortel Networks, SAP, JD Edwards and Sybase. Dale has worked as an industry analyst since the year 2000, initially with Bloor Research, and later with Quocirca, where he developed and ran the company’s core primary research business.
