Synopsis:

The growth of mobile broadband data usage is driving the technology evolution of 3GPP technology towards LTE - Long Term Evolution. This new and exciting packet based mobile multimedia communications system will increase peak and average data rates whilst reducing latency; this results in an enhanced quality of experience and service interactivity. This presentation will introduce the audience to LTE technology, discuss how we carry voice traffic over a packet only network and review recent UK LTE trials of LTE for fixed and mobile applications.
