Some of our qualifications are changing...

Following on from our communication in July 2017 we are continuing to make some changes to our qualification portfolio. Here’s what’s changing and why!

The world of IT is fast paced and rapidly changing, that’s why we are undertaking a full review of our current qualification portfolio. We want to ensure that we continue to provide the most relevant and valid IT qualifications for 21st century learners. As part of our review we have decided to withdraw a number of our ITQ qualifications where take up is particularly low and feedback from our customers suggests that the large number of options in these flexible qualifications can be confusing.

If I am a Centre what does this mean for me?

In July, we published the timetable for the withdrawal of these qualifications. The timetable had three key dates:

  • Final date for purchasing credits for registrations - end of September 2017
  • Final date for BCS acceptance of learner registrations - end of January 2018
  • Final testing date - 31 July 2018. This will ensure that your learners have plenty of time to complete their course.

The deadline for purchasing credits for registrations (1 October 2017) has now passed, it will no longer be possible to purchase credits for registrations for these qualifications. Also, please note that it will not be possible to transfer credits for registrations to other qualifications.

Although we are withdrawing these qualifications they will still be available for delivery throughout the rest of the 2017/2018 academic year. We’ve made sure that the withdrawal will not disrupt any of your delivery this year. We will continue to accept learner registrations until the end of January 2018 and the final testing date is 31 July 2018. This will ensure that your learners have plenty of time to complete their course.

We understand that you may have some questions around the withdrawal of these qualifications. Our dedicated team are here to answer any queries you may have.

Also, please note that it will not be possible to transfer credits for registrations to other qualifications.
