Synopsis

In this webinar, Nigel Hopkins, Business Practice Specialist - Asset & Configuration Management at Ikea and game designer, will provide us with a practical guide to establishing ITAM capabilities and practices across agile organisations. The presentation details the journey from a traditional centralised SAM/ITAM approach to one that is decentralised, focused on co-worker engagement, and driven by risk assessments and business value generation. The framework delivers fast-paced continual, incremental improvement in an organic and adaptive manner, leading to new, unforeseen benefits.

About the speaker

Nigel HopkinsNigel Hopkins has more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry. From 2011, he worked as IT capacity manager at IKEA IT AB, as a member of a small cross-functional team incorporating capacity management and SAM, with license management being a key area of involvement both in terms of optimization and negotiation. Having adopted an agile methodology in 2018, Nigel and his colleagues have extended and expanded this approach to service supply. As part of major reorganisations establishing IKEA digital, the original team has been re-imagined, repositioned, and extended, reflecting the business-focused approach to ITAM. In his downtime, Nigel designs board games that simulate the strategies and challenges of corporate IT.
