The London Central Branch are hosting a series of virtual #IamRemarkable workshops to empower everyone - women, underrepresented groups and allies.

Speaker

Amber Hilton - STEM & Inclusion Officer, BCS London Central Branch

Synopsis

#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond.

Many of us struggle when it comes to talking about our own accomplishments. Cultural and gender modesty norms as well as impostor syndrome can prevent anyone from acknowledging their remarkable attributes and expressing their achievements.

The aim of this workshop is to:

  1. Improve the self promotion motivation and skills of women and underrepresented groups
  2. Challenge the social perception around self promotion

During the 90 minute workshop, you will learn the importance of self-promotion in your personal and professional life and be equipped with tools to develop this skill. Participants will be invited to challenge the social perception around self-promotion.

We will be running the first of the BCS LCB #IamRemarkable workshops on 31st March at 6:30 and will offer places to the first 20 who sign up. We will continue to run these workshops so if you don't get on to the first workshop we will contact you for future dates.
