Description:
At Microsoft we have made major steps in securing software via the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) as part of the Trustworthy Computing intiatives launched in 2002.

Threats in the security space evolve constantly and attackers get increasing innovative with the vulnerabilities they find and how they exploit them.

Part of the role of the Security Science Team in Microsoft (part of the Microsoft Security Engineering Center) is to get ahead of the curve and put measures in place ahead of time and reduce the number/ effectiveness of vulnerabilities.
