Description:

Fundamental question: how is it possible to be professionalising an industry when those tasked with the endeavour do not understand the core of the subject at hand? This talk will take you on the journey from IT Security, through Information Security to Information Assurance, describing the history of how we got here, where we appear to be now - not as some would have it, simply buried in a world of all things cyber..... and suggesting how best to move forward in terms of where the end game ought to be. Information is the lifeblood for us all now; we live in an Information Society, it is the currency, for many - so we need to better protect it and understand the frameworks for doing so. As professionals, we need to be better skilled to support this and to be able to evidence that appropriately. Are you ready for IA 3.0?!
