Dr Jon Hall FBCS CITP CEng CSci

Jon Hall has worked as a researcher in complex problem solving at the Open University, UK for more than 20 years and has nigh on 100 peer reviewed research papers. In that time, he has delivered major improvements to in-house problem solving capability in both public and private sectors for some very well-known organisations. He is currently working on long-term projects with Siemens to improve change management, and Webasto to improve early project management. For almost 10 years, Jon has served as Editor in Chief of Wiley’s Knowledge Engineering journal 'Expert Systems.’ He teaches Information Security and Software Development at Masters level.

Jon currently chairs the Education and Training Committee of the Information Technology Company (WCIT) where he works, pro bono, with institutions, including schools and universities, to advise on IT, vision, curriculum, funding bids, and other matters, and has led and been involved in many educational/IT projects. He is a past-chair of BCS ELITE, the Chartered Institute for IT’s Effective Leadership group, sat on BCS Council, and has led risk management dealing with professional membership. He’s been a BCS membership assessor (FBCS, CTIP, CEng and CSci), and QA Lead for Assessment of CEng/IEng and CSci.

Jon is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, a Fellow of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, The Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors, and of the International Academy, Research and Industry Association. He is CTIP (with CoCC), CEng and CSci.

Jon also runs a small sports training business and does ultra and muddy runs and cycles long distances for fun and to raise money for charity.
