Event description:

Newcastle International Airport have implemented a sophisticated business intelligence platform to provide strategic and operational visibility of business performance. The solution was developed in a series of stages, focusing on commercial and aeronautical business performance including revenues, capacity planning and passenger flow analysis.

The system integrates data from multiple systems including flight information and SAP ERP systems and presents invaluable management information that was previously more time-consuming and more difficult to obtain. This has helped in making key decisions and forward planning of the business.

George Nesbitt, Systems and IT Manager will describe the business objectives behind the project and the value the airport has derived from having a dynamic management information platform. He will also describe the technology platform that is used to deliver the functionality and some of the challenges the project faced, particular around information quality and management.

Tony Hird Chief Technologist from British Airways, will explain the dimensions of data and how they interact in an evolving digital world. He will discuss how organisations can ensure their future success, by focusing on how they publish, use and consume data across all aspects of their business.
