A talk for our members that work in the Operations field as well as for the ones that would like to know more about this field.

Mr. David Thornley (Head of Networks and Infrastructure of Sheffield Hallam University) and Mr. Mark Charlesworth (Operations Manager for Networks and Infrastructure of Sheffield Hallam University) will be talking about their experience working at the SHU Data Centre.

Speakers

Mr. David Thornley (Head of Networks and Infrastructure of Sheffield Hallam University) is a senior manager in the Information Systems and Technology Portfolio with number of areas of responsibilities. He is experience IT Infrastructure manager with strong interest in providing effective relevant and above all successful IT services focused on the needs of customer. He is also leading the Networks and infrastructure service responsible for the effective provision of a resilient and well performing IT infrastructure to underpin the Sheffield Hallam University's IT services. This includes Datacentres, IT equipment such as servers, storage and networking, software and services and managing people.

Mr. Mark Charlesworth (Operations Manager for Networks and Infrastructure of Sheffield Hallam University) is responsible for managing network and infrastructure's change and problem management processes, planning and managing Disaster Recovery and business continuity test.
