Organised by Southampton Solent University and BCS Hampshire Branch as part of the National Science and Engineering Week.

This practical workshop is aimed at teachers interested in music and audio technology and who want to explore it in more detail without spending the departmental budget on specialist equipment!

It looks at how to use free software in lessons to explore

1. properties and behaviour of sound
2. sound and music recording
3. synthesis and electronic sounds
4. composing/arranging and mixing using technology

Suitable in particular for teachers of Music, Physics and Information Technology/Computing, in particular from KS3 up, but would be relevant for KS2.
