This practical workshop is aimed at students, pupils and the general public with an interest in music technology, in particular recording, editing and mixing sound. It examines how sound is recorded, stored, analysed and reproduced using computer based technology, and looks at how to set up and operate a project recording setup on an extremely limited budget which is capable of producing high quality recordings. The workshop will cover a basic introduction to music technology systems, acoustics and how to use computers to model and analyse the performance of your home studio.

Free but places must be booked, as numbers limited, to Christopher.Barlow@solent.ac.uk.
