As part of the BCS 50th Anniversary, the Management Forum has created an innovative look at 2057 & the role of IT. The format is a series of cameo films featuring interviews with Dr Vint Cerf of Google on the future of the Internet, Professor Nigel Shadbolt of Southampton University on AI, Professor Rodney Brooks of MIT on robots, Andrew Herbert of Microsoft Research on education, Professor Brian Collins, Chief Scientist at the Department for Transport, on making transport work, and sci-fi author Pat Cadigan on 'can machines think?' - also futurists Ian Pearson on human augmentation, Chris Skinner on Financial Services and Dr Oliver Sparrow on the challenges facing the world to 2057.

The first part, on Wednesday 14th November from 7pm to 8.30pm at Southampton Solent University will show the introductory film plus the films on 1957, 2057, Technology, and the Information Society, followed by a discussion. This is organised with the BCSWomen Specialist Group, to coincide with Womens' Enterprise Day.

Gil Ringland, who designed the films and who's day job is as CEO of SAMI Consulting, will be at both events to lead the discussion and gain feedback on which ideas are thought likely and which not!
