Living through the COVID-19 Pandemic would have looked and felt very different without access to digital technologies. Indeed for many, it absolutely did.
The progress many of us made to move our lives online was not universal. COVID-19 exacerbated the inequalities that already existed in society, between those who can access and reap the benefits of digital technology and those who can’t – or feel they don’t need to.
The UK’s digital divide has fast become one of the most important measure of modern inequality.
This event is an opportunity to hear from the BCS and IET Presidents, explore the role of professional bodies and how individual members can make a positive impact to close the digital divide.
