Since moving to Sheffield in 2001, I have been the Treasurer of the South Yorkshire Branch and was previously the Chair of the Merseyside Branch.
I live in the Peak District and am a member of the National Park Authority, as well as the deputy chair of the Moors for the Future Peakland restoration project. I am also vice-chair of our local parish council.
I think it is important that the BCS provides a local forum for professionals to meet and exchange ideas in a friendly and convivial environment. Members of all levels meet and discuss areas of common interest. I have always worked within the BCS branch network to achieve this.
