The aim of this workshop is to explore the current issues and challenges facing the IT profession that are posed by today’s technologies and new uses of ICT. The workshop will bring together professionals working on the social and ethical aspects of ICT from different disciplines and areas of practice, to share research, good practice and ideas for future work and collaboration.

Short presentations are invited within a set of broad themes. Participant discussion and engagement is the key. It is not necessary to present. Participants from any discipline and sector are welcome.

This workshop is a joint venture between BCS ICT Ethics Specialist Group and the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) Working Group 9.2 on Social Accountability and ICT and Special Interest Group on Ethics and Computing. Members of the three groups will be attending, bringing together their expertise from the UK, Europe and the US.
