Synopsis
T Levels are new courses that started being taught in September 2020. They follow GCSEs and will be equivalent to 3 A levels. These 2-year courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work.
In this event, Rebecca George, OBE, BCS President will explain what T-levels are, why they are needed, how they sit alongside existing vocational qualifications such as apprenticeships and BTECs/Technicals, and how employers can provide the 45 day industry placement that is part of T-levels. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
About the speaker
The presenter, Rebecca George OBE, is BCS President, 2020-2021 and is the Non-Executive Chair of the T-Level Reform Programme Board for the Department of Education. She was honoured with an OBE in 2006 for work she did for the Government on Sustainable Communities.
