Synopsis

An introduction into the importance of Information Security to the UK energy sector, how it applies to the different businesses and activities, and potential impacts.

This talk will look at the most relevant cyber threats to the UK energy sector and the tools and technologies which can protect us against cyber-attack. The concepts are adaptable for many other industries.

About the speaker

John Wright

John WrightJohn Wright is an Information Security & Compliance Officer for a large European Energy Utility. His responsibilities include implementation of the company Information Security strategy to their UK-based business functions and interfacing to UK government and energy sector regulatory authorities on cyber security topics affecting the UK’s critical national infrastructure.

John has 15 years’ experience in IT service management and information security roles in the private sector, and holds ISACA’s CISM and CRISC certifications and is an ISO27001 certified ISMS Lead Implementer.
