Synopsis

In this session Stuart will provide a brief introduction to IT Asset Management and how it is core to IT Service and Cyber-security. We will explore some of the key principle and how they support business goals and operations along side with the user stories for key stake holders such Finance, Procurement & Service Owners.
The aim of this session is provide introduction to ITAM and how it is a lot more than Software Compliance and how it can be used to meet not just IT goal but also Business ones and provide true business intelligence to allow your business to make informed decisions.

About the speaker

Stuart Dicken

Stuart began his early career cutting his teeth implementing Software Asset Management (SAM) under the ITIL Framework for an energy firm and over the next nearly 25 years has consulted and worked for many recognisable household names and public sector organisations in Europe and North America.

Stuart’s experience includes design and implementation of IT Asset Management practices for business with only a few hundred users to multinationals with hundreds of thousands of users helping them to identify over the years hundreds of millions of pounds in savings.

Stuart is acknowledged for his many years and breadth of experience having presented at various industry events and quoted in a number of publications for IT Asset Management namely around cost optimisation, audit defence and Cyber security.

Stuart has recently returned the BCS SM-ITAM Special Interest Group and sits on the committee as the Early Careers Advocate and facilitates the Northern events which restart in March 2023 after a few year out. Professionally he currently is the Principal Consultant and Practice Lead for ITAM with bedigital delivering ITAM Strategy and Digital Transformation into public and private organisations.
