Free tickets to ScotlandJS and ScotlandCSS for underrepresented groups
18 May 2016
ScotlandJS have created a diversity support fund to allow individuals from underrepresented groups to attend the Scottish JavaScript and Scottish CSS conferences free of charge. The conferences are running from 1-3 June at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh.
If you are from an underrepresented group, or know someone that could benefit then please apply here.
ScotlandJS have been working for years to improve the diversity of our conferences. This year, across the two conferences, there are 15 female or non-binary speakers. We organised support groups to support potential first-time speakers and encourage them to give their first talk.
This led to an increase in the number of proposals from underrepresented groups from 8 in 2015, to 32 this year. We are also providing complimentary childcare over the three days, with children welcome at all of the evenings’ events.
This fund would not have been made possible without the support of our partners: FanDuel, Amazon, Cultivate, JP Morgan, Cucumber, Travis, Scott Logic, CodeClan, ScotlandIS, Girl Geek Scotland, Zendesk and Future Learn.
