Nic Granger CITP FBCS is one of many leading technologists recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours List.

As Chief Information and Financial Officer of the North Sea Transition Authority, Nic has been awarded an OBE for services to digital transformation. Her team’s achievements include setting up the National Data Repository (NDR), which now holds more than a petabyte of data.

Nic, a BCS Trustee and Chair of our Risk, Audit and Finance Committee, is joined by a number of outstanding computer scientists, educators, technologists and digital leaders being honoured for their contribution to society.

Among the other highlights:

Yvonne Gallagher, Digital Director of the National Audit Office, receives an OBE.

Professor Ursula Martin, Emeritus Professor in the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, is made a Dame. She is also the co-author of Ada Lovelace: The Making of a Computer Scientist.

Both have previously supported BCS’ community through their volunteer work and wider public service.

Phillip Colligan, CEO of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, receives a CBE for services to Engineering and Technology for Societal Impact—recognition that reflects our shared mission and longstanding partnership.

Also recognised is Lee Parkinson, better known for his work as Teacher Trainer at Mr P ICT and co-creator of TeachmateAI. He receives an MBE for services to education.
