Computing courses

Some teachers may wish to have additional support to help them work towards certificate.

BCS provide three courses that will help you to achieve the Certificate. They are also available to teachers not enrolled on the Certificate.

If you are not enrolled on the Certificate but want to take any of our BCS courses please enrol here. You can always choose to take the Certificate at a later date.

The courses are designed as optional additions to the Certificate for those teachers who need more guidance and instruction to meet the standard required.

The courses  run on regular weekday evenings each term. Each course  takes place online using the Certificate Learning Environment and  consists of weekly scheduled webinars with one of our expert e-tutors who will guide you through the weekly tasks.

Choose the Guided Route (with courses) or Independent Route (without courses) when you register for the Certificate.

If you choose the Guided Route you will be enrolled on to the appropriate Part 2 course for your phase (Python for secondary school teachers and Scratch for primary school teachers)  and on to the Part 3 pedagogy course. If you prefer some other combination of courses, please contact the Certificate team.
