Description

Risk management is integrated into, projects and day to day operation, in the domain of Information Technology (IT). Risk registers can be created with many irrelevant items. Risk plans can be created for the sake of complete documentation and may not be needed. Also, risk plans can be copied in and may not be relevant to the actual risk. Risk documentation may not be related to the underpinning components, processes, software and environment critical to a project or operation.

In his presentation, Marcellus will explore an approach to risk management used across a corporation, to support management and reporting at the project level or operation level. Being a consistent approach, risks can be communicated up to a programme and corporate level in a unified view. It assists projects run, using Waterfall or Agile methodologies. Also, it supports the implementation of ISO 9001 and Capability Maturity Model (now CMMI).
