It is widely stated that there is a cyber security skills gap, with simply not enough skilled people to fill the roles that are now available. At the University of South Wales, we have developed a degree programme that puts students directly in touch with industry, with the aim of developing graduates that can be making an impact even before they complete their courses.

We have also developed an extensive outreach programme to inspire young people, especially girls, to consider careers in this exciting industry.

This talk will highlight some of the activities we are involved with, and how members of the BCS might want to engage with the University’s cyber department.
