SYNOPSIS
In this workshop we will go through how to extend your existing website to enable more features for your users for an “app like” feel.
The workshop will walk you through the main principles of the service worker and how it can be used to enable more features in the browser, like background sync and push notifications.
If you’d like to follow along make sure you have node, npm, git and a Chromium based browser installed on your laptop.

SPEAKER BIO
Jules is a graduate from the University of Reading, graduating in July 2018 with a 1st Class Honours degree in Computer Science with Industrial Year. During his degree he became a developer at Eli Lily, as part of their placement programme. Here he was able to learn modern technologies such as Docker and React and implement them into the corporate environment.
Since Graduating he has joined Apak Group in Newbury. Using his previous experience he helped lead his team to implement a fully integrated React frontend and is in the process of helping to rearchitect a legacy solution to fit into a modern cloud solution.
