13 March 2020

We are very sorry to advise that due to the current coronavirus situation and with great consideration, we have made the extremely difficult decision this morning to postpone our ‘Skills for a Digital World 2020’ event which was due to take place on the 19 March at the ICC Birmingham.

This decision was not made lightly, however combining the risk to the health and safety of event attendees and the decisions taken by many businesses and individuals, including some of the key event contributors, to not travel or attend events, which we expect to increase over the coming days, has meant we believe this is the sensible option to take.

Our top priority is the health and safety of those attending our event and with the rapidly changing coronavirus situation, we no longer feel confident that we can run this conference to the quality we would like and without placing delegates, speakers and staff at risk.

It’s very important to us that we deliver you the quality of event that was promised and with a reduced speaker line-up, we now feel unable to provide that.

We are looking at alternative dates to bring the conference and speakers to you, sharing content and valuable updates to help you prepare in your role as an educator or employer and to continue to voice and advocate the digital literacy skills agenda.

This conference was just the beginning of our plans for digital literacy engagement and we will be sharing lots more content to keep you informed and up to date from BCS and its partner community.

Together we can make a difference in a digital world to not leave anyone behind.

If you have any immediate questions around the new essential digital skills qualification, please contact a member of our team on +44 (0) 1793 417445 or email bcssales@bcs.uk
