A Computer Art Society Evening.
Agenda
6:00pm - Event starts
8:30pm - Event ends
Synopsis
When selecting our EVA London Research Workshop Delegates, we look for early career postgraduate researchers, academics, and independent artists who have proposed exciting and original ideas that are ‘work in progress’ rather than completed projects. This programme also allows us to broaden our main conference topics and to explore more eclectic and innovative ideas.
It presents an opportunity for our more established EVA delegates to enjoy new concepts and to offer supportive questions and advice. Often, this RW experience encourages these delegates to make successful full papers and peer-reviewed proposals for our conference a year or two later.
For 2024, as part of our aim to develop our support for early career researchers and digital artists, EVA London has trebled our Research Workshop delegate places to eighteen.
There will be nine presentations over each of the afternoons of Thursday 11th and Friday 12th July.
While many postgraduate students from our most prestigious digital university courses will be represented, other exhibitors will be recent graduates and independent artists. All our exhibitors have been selected for their original and thought-provoking ideas and, in many cases, very innovative use of the latest technology.
Details
We will begin the evening in our lecture room at 6 pm with a 30-minute online presentation from staff and students who are part of the MFA Digital Arts in the School of Visual Arts, New York. Afterwards, whichever afternoon our Research Workshop delegates formally present, our RW delegates will be allotted a desk space around BCS where they can meet you and ‘show and tell’ their ideas on a small group or 1:1 basis in an informal and friendly atmosphere. Drinks will be available during the evening as you explore all the ‘pop-up’ demonstrations.
This Pop-Up Show takes place in many different rooms at BCS, so it is impossible to stream this event or run it in hybrid mode.
Please note that a ticket to this event does not gain you entry to the EVA London 2024 conference. You must register separately for EVA London 2024 to attend the conference.
Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
