Tom Allen – Editor, Computing

Tom is the Editor for Computing, where he has been covering the UK IT market since 2017. He is an industry veteran, writing his first tech story back in the mists of 2011, and specialises in covering topics around sustainable IT, diversity and Web3 developments like blockchain and the metaverse.

Tom regularly chats to leading IT professionals around the world, from companies both large and small, keeping a finger on the pulse of the technology space. He is always on the lookout for the newest market trends that affect IT leaders in the UK and worldwide.

Tom has previously written for a variety of B2B titles, including those serving the jewellery, pet and funeral industries - and yes, he's heard all the jokes. Often spotted with a notebook, grumbling about the Oxford comma.

Carl Harris – Executive Director for Brand, BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT

Carl is the Executive Director for Brand at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. A Chartered IT Professional (CITP), Carl has worked in the IT industry for more than 25 years’ starting his career as a website designer & developer. His experience spans a range of domains including IT, digital transformation, operations and marketing. His previous roles at BCS include Director for Business Technology, and Director of Operations overseeing the delivery of all technology strategy and operational capability within the business. Carl’s current role as Brand Director sees him leading the Institute’s brand development strategy, group marketing activity and BCS’s programme of awards and flagship events which includes the UK IT Industry Awards. Carl is one of our experienced judges at the UK IT Industry Awards, now judging in the awards for more than 10 years. He is also a Trustee Director of a Multi-Academy Trust, serving as Vice-Chair of the Board and Chairing the Trust’s Risk & Audit Committee.

Karen Byer - PA Consulting and winner of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leader of the Year

Karen is a professional full-time Lead Project Manager and the UK Chair of the PA Consulting RISE employee network. With over 20 years of experience in delivering and implementing projects and programmes, Karen remains enthused by the opportunities technology provides to improve ways of working and the positive impact it can have for an end user. As UK Chair of RISE, Karen has offered guidance, direction and support to colleagues from diverse backgrounds, as well as colleagues who want to improve their allyship skills. I am looking forward to participating in the webinar and sharing my insights.

Lucille Harvey - Principal Consultant, Triad Group and winner of Rising Star of the Year

Lucille won the 2023 UK IT Industry awards for User Experience project of the year and Rising Star of the year. She heads up the User-Centred Design department at Triad Group Plc. Her work is central government-focused, designing platforms for national services. Lucille has a first-class bachelor's in Psychology and a master's first in Human-Computer Interaction from UCL. Lucille is both a UX designer and a user researcher who champions a people focused approach to drive tangible impact. At Triad, she has delivered projects for the Department for Transport, Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, the Office for Product Safety & Standards and the Metropolitan Police.

Tim Hartley - VP Product, SeeChange Technologies and winner of AI Innovation of the Year

Tim is a seasoned expert in computer vision, with over 30 years’ experience across both corporate and start-up worlds, from Executive Producer at the BBC to VP of Product at SeeChange. Tim is the master architect behind SeeChange's solutions, working closely with partners and customers to assure solution relevancy.
