Synopsis

This talk will cover an introduction to quantum computing, use cases for quantum computing, and the different ways to get involved and learn more. We will take a look at recent advances in both quantum hardware and software at IBM Quantum and give an outlook for the coming years as we move into an era of quantum advantage and ultimately fault tolerance. Finally, there will be a short demo using Qiskit to run a program on a quantum computer.

Speaker Biography

Will Simmons is a Software Engineer and Quantum Ambassador at IBM Quantum based at IBM Hursley. He works on the compiler for IBM's current fleet of quantum computers.
