Synopsis

This exciting and very topical event will be answering some very important questions around Artificial Intelligence:

  1. How likely will AI replace my job in the next decade?
  2. Which industries or roles are most at risk of automation by AI?
  3. Are there any jobs that AI cannot replace? If so, why?
  4. How can I future-proof my career in the age of AI?
  5. Will AI create more jobs than it eliminates?
  6. How do ethical considerations factor into the deployment of AI in workplaces?
  7. What skills should I focus on developing to stay relevant in an AI-driven economy?
  8. Can AI be regulated to ensure it doesn’t harm employment opportunities?
  9. Is AI more likely to augment or replace human roles entirely?
  10. What role do education and retraining play in adapting to the rise of AI?

Come and understand what it is all about, where it will be important, the hype, the risks, and how I can amplify my career opportunities within this brave new world of Artificial Intelligence.

This event is brought to you by the reactivated BCS Shropshire branch. Therefore, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn how to get more out of the BCS, and how you could get involved.

We are looking for new members to get involved with new ideas for the Shropshire Committee.

So come and meet us.

About the speaker

Lewis Hardie is responsible for New Business Development at Start Tech.

Start Tech are an award-winning IT Managed Service Provider based in Shrewsbury. With a team of 25, they are certified by the NCSC as an Assured Service Provider. They have been supporting UK organisations for over 25 years.

Lewis has a passion for ensuring his clients environments are as secure as they can be and ensuring pro-activity is the answer, with a heavy focus on utilising modern technology to streamline processes and drive productivity.

The huge, almost overnight adoption of AI in tech has transformed the way businesses operate, from ChatGPT to Microsoft Co-Pilot, the question shouldn’t be “Will AI take my job?” it should be “How can I utilise AI to make me more efficient and maximise my time on the things that really matter”.

Even more importantly, are other organisations in my sector adopting it more effectively and gaining a competitive edge over us?

Tech should always open doors and opportunities, it should not be holding businesses back.

Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
