About the speaker

Autumn Bamford, Electromagnetics Software Developer Intern, BAE Systems.

Autumn is an Electromagnetics Software Engineer Intern at BAE Systems where she is one of the main developers for a bespoke mathematical imaging software system. Alongside her main role she is also key researcher for BAE Systems’ Quantum Imaging project and also is the Project Manager for five teams within the In-Space Missions Satellite project.

Beyond her technical role, Autumn is a passionate advocate for diversity in STEM. She founded and served as President for the Leicester branch of CyberWomen Groups C.I.C, known as CyberWomen@Leicester - an initiative dedicated to empowering women and non-binary students in cybersecurity. Through this, Autumn has organised and hosted webinars, networking opportunities, and skill-building events for the students who otherwise would have little exposure to the field. Her impact was recognised when she was shortlisted for ‘The Most Inspirational Women in Cyber 2025’, a feat which highlights her dedication to supporting students and breaking down barriers in the tech industry.
