Join this session where we uncover what financial inclusion really means, why it matters, and how being part of the digital world with digital literacy can help bridge the gap.
We’ll discuss the barriers people face, the role of digital technologies and skills, and how small changes can make a big difference in helping everyone access essential financial services.

About the speakers

Rubi Kaur – Chief Enterprise Architect, Fellow of BCS, and Inclusion Officer at the DD SG Rubi Kaur is an experienced Chief Enterprise Architect with over 25 years of technical leadership across Lloyds Banking Group, Vodafone, BT, O2, and the UK Government.

She has led award-winning teams, including recipients of the Business Green IT Team of the Year and the UK Government Finance Award for Sustainability. Rubi is passionate about architecting inclusive, ethical, and responsible digital technology and ensuring all voices are heard.

For four consecutive years, she has been recognized in the Computer Weekly list of Most Influential Women in Technology.

David Agar – CEO BankAbility David is the CEO and co-founder of BankAbility UK CIC, a social impact fintech committed to making digital banking truly accessible for disabled, older, and excluded communities.

With over 30 years’ experience leading tech ventures, David brings deep expertise in payments, digital accessibility, and inclusive innovation.

He’s passionate about using ethical AI and user-led co-design to unlock financial inclusion and bridge the digital divide.

Penny Roberts is the Partnerships Director and co‑founder of BankAbility, building the world’s first accessibility‑centric open banking platform.

With over 20 years of experience forging multi‑million‑pound partnerships across the tech, education and enterprise sectors, Penny is a passionate advocate for disability inclusion.

Inspired by her experiences as the mother of a dyslexic and autistic son, she places lived experience at the heart of BankAbility’s mission to bridge financial and digital exclusion.

Freddie Quek - Chair of the Digital Divide Specialist Group, Founder of #JoiningTheDots Freddie is a global technology leader who has worked across many industry sectors. He started the #JoiningTheDots initiative of 16 UK tech communities to address #digitalinclusion, became special advisor and Community Board member of the Digital Poverty Alliance and established the BCS Digital Divide Specialist Group.

Recently he co-founded The NextPath Device Consortium, a tech sector-driven initiative to address digital inclusion at scale.

He serves on the boards at University of Bristol, BCS Influence Board, eLife, and the Royal Society of Chemistry. He is a Fellow of BCS and judge for the UK IT Industry, Women in IT awards and CIO 100.
