Synopsis

As organisations face increasing regulatory and reputational exposure linked to digital harms, understanding child-related risk is becoming essential for risk and assurance professionals.

This session introduces the 5Rights framework and explores how children’s rights apply within digital risk management, audit and governance functions. Participants will examine how child-specific risks differ from standard risk assessments, how they align with privacy, safety and security by design, and how to determine acceptable risk thresholds.

Through a brief case study and overview of available standards and tools, the session will provide practical insight into strengthening assurance, improving oversight, and embedding children’s rights into enterprise risk management frameworks.
